Action to Collect Signatures on Clean Up Australia Day 3 March 2013

The Lane Cove Sustainability Group and supporters were collecting signatures on a Petition to introduce a Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) in NSW (ie 10cent refund); and ideally, Nationally. This event was timed to coincide with Clean Up Australia Day to highlight the glaringly obvious fact that a large proportion of the litter collected at Clean UP sights around the country (excluding South Australia, where a CDS & a Plastic Bag Ban is in place) are beverage containers. On the day we collected approximately 120 signatures per petition, so thank you to those whom signed.

Three locations were set up around LaneCove shops. Outside Coles, Woolworths and in the Plaza.
