Lane Cove Fair October 2013

 

This years fair was held on Sunday October 13th with the Lane Cove Sustainability Action Group raising a couple of issues.

​

1. Advertising the new-look BagShare bins & promoting the scheme both at the stall & outside Coles & Woolworths with the help of some Riverview students; and

​

2. We are supporting the campaign for the introduction of a National Container Deposit Scheme (CDS). Ie a 10cent refund to be applied to all beverage containers.

As a bit of fun we held a guessing competition where entrants had to estimate the number of plastic bags that were stuffed into a 20litre water cooler bottle. The number was actually 136, with the closest guess being 130.
